A Business to build

Meanwhile it is already March 2012, Last Month I traveled to Salt Lake again, and met a forum friend who lives in Salt Lake City. She did confirm that Salt Lake City is a very great place to live... 


In that week we started hiring new employees to work in our New studio... I was very impressed about the quality of Designers...

Unfortunately in the field of Animation, there is a lot to learn in Greater Salt Lake City.

So probably we have to recruit from elsewhere.

I had 10 days to do my work, and visit some nice places...

But the 10 Days were not enough... We visited many architect firms, construction companies to build our new studio, and we even got an appointment with the Mayor of the City...

We visited the land we want to buy, had appointments with the realtor, to bring an offer.

Also we had an appointment with our business immigration Attorney, and after our meeting, it seems that I have the right papers, the right education and the potential to get a Green card...

But the most time, I was working for new clients new projects and visit our friends.....

The 10 day's were too short, but this month, I go back again....

Two Routes

However we did already joined the DV Lottery last year, we are happy we were not selected then... We were not ready for it...
Now we are, and we hope this year we belong to the winners...
But we are also very realistic that winning the lottery is only for a few lucky people. From all applicants there are only 1 of the 33 who are selected...
But there is a bigger change than winning the Lotto!


But to move forward we also started a second route... From our US Accountant who has many international clients we got a name from an attorney who is specialized in business immigrations.
This attorney will startup another process to get a green card.
Soon I have a appointment with this attorney and we will discuss what he can do for us..

Salt Lake City

However we have for many years the desire to live and work in the USA, since a few months it became serious to us. Because our business, and companies in the USA, it is more and more necessary that we relocate there.
The place is picked. Salt Lake City...
Not Burbank, however our company is located there, it is not the neighborhood to raise our children.
Salt Lake City. The city in the mountains. Located very central, Has the best business climate in the USA (according Forbes Magazine). The people there are real, decent and friendly.
There is so much talent, and for us we have the best shooting locations in the world within a few hour drive!
The Tax climate is better than California... And last of not least, the City, The chamber of commerce, the film commission, and clients want us there!

So we decided this year we start fore-fill our dream we dream already for many years...
We do not know if we can do it, but if we do not try, we think we will regret we didn't.

We share the dream

This is our first post of many to come.
Our Blog is about our dream, to immigrate to the USA. We follow a lot of others who share the dream.
Just like we had a lot of inspiration from others, we think it is important to share the experience and knowledge how we try to realize our dream.
But also to our family we hope as soon we going to tell them that we finally go.. they can read our Blog and understand that it is not just something we quickly decided but a process of many years.
